Generally I will try to ask questions to see which specific points a student needs assistance with and make sure they understand the material on a fundamental level. I also believe that practice and hands-on experiences teach the most, so there tends to be an emphasis on working through problems step-by-step than lecturing. Ultimately I am flexible, and can change my style and routine to accommodate the students' needs.
While at the University of Tulsa I have tutored in both math and chemistry, so I have experience with those subjects in particular. Though I received a bachelors in Psychology I was also pre-med, so I was required to take several heavy science courses as well. As such I am also proficient in several biological subjects.

With degrees in both Psychology and Religion from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, combined with the pre-requisites required for Veterinary School entrance, I am well qualified to teach and tutor a variety of subjects. During my college career I also studied engineering, so I am able to tutor advanced math and engineering as well. I have an extensive research background so I am able to assist students with lengthy research papers and laboratory reports. A Little Bit About Me...

After twelve semesters of college and a wide variety of courses, my college experience has left me with quite the education and still more to come. I am a Senior attending the University of Central Oklahoma pursuing a bachelor in Applied Computer Science. I have taken such a wide variety of courses in the previous six years that I have completed the major requirements for a bachelor degree in General Studies as well. This degree also stipulates I earn a minor, which I have completed in the area of Mathematics. My particular skills are in the areas of Math, Computers, and Life Science. While studying physics at the University of Texas, I was exposed to a variety of educational experiences. My course work provided me with extensive study in mathematics and in physics courses designed for science majors. Also, I worked in the Lecture Demonstrations office, which provided working demonstration props for use in lower division physics courses taught to students of both science and non-science backgrounds. In addition, I was employed by the UT Learning Center as a tutor for mathematics and physics which honed my skills as teacher as well as student. These skills were then put to work as both independent tutor and as a teacher of mathematics at the secondary level.

My technique is just showing I care about them. I am a bigger guy (I played football in college) and I usually get the respect of the children just off that point, and then when they see that I care about them and their future, it is usually easy for me to teach them.
