My teaching is to use Socratic method by asking questions. I let the students brain-storm and bring into consideration a variety of solutions to one problem. My goal is to teach students critical thinking as the basis to find solutions for modern problems. My experience at the community college and public school classroom includes a wide range of diverse teaching experiences from high achieving Japanese to Hispanic low performing students seventh graders I have excelled at teaching all levels of ethnically, academically and physically diverse students. The procedure I follow in tutoring is to first attack is to find out where any understanding difficulty lies. Then, I write the rules out. Next I work 2-3 problems applying the rules as we proceed step by step. Under my tutledge, I have the student work 2-3 problems on their own. When the student can, at least, master the basic problems, then we move on to the next area of difficulty. Every one can succeed at some level. My Ph. I am known for my combination of academic rigor and creativity. I love developing kinesthetic, "hands-on" lessons. For example, I'm currently teaching "Vocabulary and Spelling" on Saturdays at GCC. I taught students how to create their own "3-D movies". Then, they wrote "scripts" for the characters they created, using their vocabulary words. They had fun AND learned how to use their words in context. I have been teaching CSET English Test Prep for more than six years. I began in 2003, while working as a high school English teacher for Los Angeles Unified School District. The Teacher Training Dept. hired me to teach their Single Subject Prep classes to English teachers preparing for the CSET and Praxis Exams.
