My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : Experience in teaching Kindergarten and First grade Math.

I got my B.S. degree in Elementary Education in 2004. I am very eager to help children learn. Children are like sponges, they soak up a wealth of information at such a young age. My experience consists of working as a long term sub for third and fourth grades in Fredericktown, Missouri. I have also substituted in the Pasadena ISD, Channelview ISD, and Sheldon ISD. I have taught all ages. From Kindergarten to High School students. My degree concentration is in history. But, I prefer to help with reading, phonics, vocabulary, spelling, and math.
Each child has different learning abilities. Hands on is the best type of teaching.

Everyone can learn - it just takes the right presentation!

I am a behavioral specialist with 12 years of experience working with individuals between the ages of 2 and 19 who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, emotional disturbance, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. This is what I love doing, and I have the patience to reteach in multiple ways over multiple days. Over the past 5 years I have taught English Language Arts to sixth graders, and tutored in all 6th grade subject areas while using positive reinforcement to enhance productivity. In September, I will be sitting for the certification exam to become a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA). I believe that everyone can learn and everyone has their strengths. My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : Master Teacher. Texas certified. Highly experienced Math teacher. My third and fifth grade Math students excelled to the top of their grade. Experienced Math teacher for K-8th grades. Math skills are taught along with actual applications, strategy games like chess, and computer games.

My teaching style is more the cooperative, reasonable method that prevents problems. Children need to have lots of praise and rewards for their work and efforts. It promotes growth and encouragement. My students will realize that they have to really pay attention to learn and get it. Their study skills will include organizing, focusing and stretching their thinking to higher levels. This way they can go as far as possible for them and reach the moon!

A Little Bit About Me...

I worked at San Jacinto College North as a Math tutor for all math levels for almost 2 years. Then, I worked at Galena Park High School with a 10th grade class in a program called "GEAR UP" for about 1 yr until they shut the program down for funding issues. I really love Math and always had a desire for helping other students understand the subject.
