Experience Summary
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in accounting. I have thirty years of hands on experience in the accounting and business management arena. I have worked in both public accounting and private industry ranging from small family owned businesses to holding the position of Chief Financial Officer of one of the top five rated lease finance companies in the United States. This lease finance company was formed by myself and a partner and within 10 years we were grossing in excess of $400 million a year. We took the company public in 1998 on the NYSE. I have a vast knowledge of all accounting and finance disciplines.
Teaching Style
The study of accounting and finance can be a difficult subject to learn and understand. I believe the most effective way to teach accounting is to create examples utilizing something the student is interested in and create scenario which relates this interest to accounting principles. I believe the student can learn and retain these concepts when they can relate them to situations that they are interested in. I am very patient and have the ability to explain even the most complex accounting issues in a manner that is understandable by the student.
