Experience Summary
After graduating from Binghamton University, I worked for a short time as a bookkeeper. Then I worked for New York State for 25 years in the fields of auditing, internal auditing, and accounting. I performed a variety of duties while working as an accountant including supervising staff. As an internal auditor I the day-to- day operations of an internal audit unit. I have also been a self-employed professional income tax preparer of the past 23 years.
Teaching Style
I enjoy helping people to achieve their potential and nothing makes me more happy than to see someone learn something and get a good grade or to do the task on their own without any help. My style is that I try to let the student figure out the solutions to whatever problem they are working on on their own but I will be there to help them if they run into to problems. I will show at first what they need to do and know before I leave to solve the problem on their own. If the student really runs into a problem I will go over the subject thoroughly and go through the process with them step-by-step.
