Experience Summary
I earned my undergraduate degree of History at The College of Charleston. From there I have been teaching various subjects such as math, Algebra, Geometry, World Geography, U. S. History, Economics, Government. I have taught in many middle and high schools throughout SC and NC. During the last five years I have tutored part time while I taught. As a published author, I have extensive grammar skills due to the various publications I was fortunate enought to be part of. I have taught subjects in Algebra, Geometry, U.S. History, and Western Civilization at the undergraduate level
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching very much. I think a strength trying to use a student's active content or prior knowledge to connect to material. My attempts are always to make the student feel empowered by the education process. If you can connect to way what they are into, either cartoons, hip-hop, popular culture, with conservative humor, then sometimes you can gain their understanding much quicker. In math I try to use a very simple, step by step process and continue until they "Get it!"
