Experience Summary
I have always ended up in leadership positions which gives me the opportunity to teach. I generally supervise adults and in this role act as teacher for processes, procedures, rules and general good practices. I am a great learner, which I think makes for a great teacher because I want to be sure that whomever I am working with finds the excitement in really understanding a topic. Many of the people I work with tell me I should be a teacher. I do also have two children, girls, seven and five. They are of course much different than adults, much quicker and very capable of absorbing lots of material.
Teaching Style
I really like to teach but only topics I really believe in. I am not a good salesperson for the same reason, if I don't believe in something you can see right through me. I have seen too many adults and kids taught the steps to something, do "A" then do "B" then do "C". This is fine until it is required that we need to do A,B,F or B,A,C. Then this poor person is left with no other angle. I am very creative and resourceful teacher, if I can teach an understanding of what "A" does, why we do "A", and when to do "A", then when A,B,F is needed the person has skills to think their way through it. I am also probably a "pusher" of people learning skills, I believe most people are more capable than they think they are.
