Experience Summary
As a undergraduate Biology major and during the last two years I have tutored other undergrad students in English and Biology using books and also handwritten notes from students. Also we have used available internet resources. While tutoring students I have gained a better understanding of course materials because of my having to reexplain in another way for another person to understand. It is said 100% of material is retained from teaching others.
Teaching Style
I believe in fully explaining the problem to the student or working out the problem fully. I then let the student work out the problem by him/herself and and then teaching back to me what he/she has done to get the problem right. I strongly believe hands on teaching and visual aids best help a students to understand what they are doing. Being patient as a tutor is key and repetition so the student understands is very important.
