Experience Summary
Graduating from three different institutions, I have earned two master and a bachelor degrees – MS in Biology and MA in Special Education, and BA in Biology. Math and Science have my main strengths in earning the degrees. Being deaf since birth, I have learned a lot about deaf people – especially children with their delayed language and math skills. I want to give something back of what I have excelled in education. Many people and children deserve the education and help they need in order to make progress in math.
Teaching Style
Teaching for 11 years in deaf education, I have enjoyed seeing a growth in my students’ math academic progress in middle school and high school level. Most children who are deaf have a delay in language learning. A deaf child who uses sign language, English is not their first language. Math, reading, and writing are the three academic subjects that require special goals with appropriate lesson plans to enhance each student’s weakness in specific areas in mathematics. Math It is my responsibility to understand each student's weakness in math and I need to take them further in understanding this subject area.
