Experience Summary
As mentor & teacher I have been a 2 year NYSPHAA student athlete,peer leader,Sr T.I.P.S educator,tutor, and most recently NYS Certified Public & Academic Librarian. Awarded a 5 yr full scholarship to pursue my BS degree in Advertising from NYIT, I’ve rounded my skills w/ a MSLIS degree in Library Info. Sciences from C.W.Post. I maintain my skills in adapting new tech. into the teaching environs, from web 2.0 to distance learning. I keep eclectic interests ranging through the arts and am currently working on improving information literacy for highschool and college students. I have experience tutoring in English, Health, Word Processing,Theology, Advertising,Arts & Earth sciences.
Teaching Style
I am cognizant of the many different learning styles of today's youth and endeavor to use each interactive opportunity to the fullest. Compassion and developing an understanding underlie my approach and I believe that students that know victory in any one arena can find it again in the academic world. I firmly believe that a path of service is a key to a greater self esteem, as I give of myself to help students reach their highest good, so often do we find it that students will pay it forward and teach what they most need to learn and learn that which they most need to teach. I love to teach and I aim to be the change I seek to see in the world.
