I entered Virginia Tech as an honors math and physics student and graduated in three years with my BS in physics. At the moment I am trying to decide if I would like to go to grad school to continue on to something else, hopefully with math and physic as at least peripherally relevant. I have never taught a class and have tutored in only in a limited capacity. I however was apart of Virginia Tech's first Physics education class and program and found that I really actually enjoy teaching for teaching's sake. I hope that my limited experience won't scare people away; I am very passionate about these subjects and I would enjoy building up my experience and resume so that I can become an even better educator.

I have taught for a total of 11 years. I taught in Prince George's Public schools for 5 years, Hyde Leadership Public Charter School in DC for 1 year, Avon Park High School for 2 years, Hardee Junior High for 1 year, and Bill Duncan Opportunity Center (alternative school) for 2 years. I got my first degree in English Education because of my love of literature and my desire to share that love with students. At the time I graduated, there was a greater need for elementary teachers in my area and I added elementary education to my teaching certification in order to make myself more marketable. I have taught reading, writing, at the 5th and 7th grade levels, social studies at the 1st and 5th grade levels, math and science at the 1st and 4th grade levels, and critical thinking at the 7th and 8th grade levels. I am a chemical engineer by profession and in the teaching field. I was a substitute teacher and tutor for 1 yr, then a high school teacher handling chemistry and general science for another year before i became a college instructor handling chemistry, physics and math for 15 yrs. Being a sales representative and at the same time the manager/cashier of a family business before my teaching career, I would say I have best people skills and can handle people of different levels and ages. A Little Bit About Me...

I just graduated about eight months ago with a B.S. in Biomedical Science from USF. I plan on going to medical school in 2010 and I am currently studying for my MCAT.
