I completed all of my field work in school 2006-2008 and completed my student teaching in 2009. During this time, I planned and taught lessons in all subjects to grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Along with teaching lessons, I also tracked students progress, and worked with students one on one to help struggling students succeed. I have worked as a tutor/ instructor at Sylvan Learning Center for the past year now. Here, I instruct students from grades Kindergarten to middle school in both Reading and Math. I have always believed that each child is truly unique. I However do not believe that all education and forms of it, should be uniform. Working with children with special needs has allowed me to be able to get to know the student and adjust the curriculum so that the child will be able to benefit the most from! As a communication disorders major I have acquired an understand and love for working with children. During my internship I was able to work one-on-one with children who have language disabilities. It was through this internship that I learned what a reward it can be to help others, and to see them flourish intellectually.

Over the past ten years, I have worked for four school districts providing after-school tutoring to students with a learning disability. I have worked with all subject matters from preschool thru fifth grade. I have tutored my niece, nephew and cousin's children all thru elementary school.
