I double-majored in biology in chemistry in undergrad, so the field of science and medicine is my first love and my strength. I have also received a Masters of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology, and have since completed my 2nd year of medical school. I have always had a strong affinity for math and english as well. I have a published thesis paper that was constructed and presented as required for my masters curriculum. I have been tutoring since I was in high school, and have tutored elementary to college level courses.
I have a relaxed, stress-free teaching style, while staying on task and topic. I make sure the pupils really understand the material by breaking things down to the basics, and reviewing the foundations. My teaching style reflects my belief that anyone can learn and understand a concept if the proper nurturing and practice is applied. I realize, from tutoring different age groups, that patience, consideration, and respect are all factors in how well a person can grasp the material. In general, my approach is to go over a math problem step by step, at a pace the student can handle, and then once the student's confidence is up, allow them to tackle the problem.
