My teaching style reflects my belief that anyone can learn and understand a concept if the proper nurturing and practice is applied. I realize, from tutoring different age groups, that patience, consideration, and respect are all factors in how well a person can grasp the material. In general, my approach is to go over a math problem step by step, at a pace the student can handle, and then once the student's confidence is up, allow them to tackle the problem. I believe that a student who lacks the basic fundamental skills in reading and mathematics will struggle to stay focused in class and continually be disruptive and ultimately stop attending school. My teaching style is consistently accommodating especially to these types of students. I like to show students that I am there for them and there isn't anything through my patience and sincerity they cannot learn.
