I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. I do not have professional experience teaching however I have experience tutoring my niece who I have been responsible for since she was 5. She is now 12 and a straight A student. I tutored throughout school and was a teachers aid in Elementary school. I have 2 young boys of my own who will beginning school next year. I have tutored in writing, K-5 math, science and history. My experiences involve the teaching and performance of music education. I am a skilled performer on the trombone, keyboards, drums and percussion. I am qualified to teach brass instruments at levels k-12 and stringed instruments at k-5. I have performed professionally in 7 states, Italy and Belgium, while serving in the military. I have created a choir for prime-time European television broadcasts in Brussels and Vicenza. I am a charter member of the Brussels chapter of "Toastmasters International". I have an undergraduate and master's degree, both focused in religious studies. I taught for two years at a private school here in Orlando. I taught middle school English and Bible. I have also been working with Valencia Community College (east campus) as a tutor for many different subject areas. I have also done some tutoring on the side in reading, grammar, math, religion, history, etc.
I really love working with young people and helping them to reach their full potential. As a tutor, I do not teach the material necessarily, but I help to facilitate the learning process and reiterate what has already been explained and taught in the classroom (hopefully). I enjoy helping students learn, no matter what the subject is. Young people truly are the future, and as an educator I feel compelled to invest in their academic experience.
