A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a volunteer tutor at a local elementary school during their aftercare program. I have also been a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Memphis to a first grader who had trouble with math (adding,subtracting, and multiplication). I have also helped fellow peers study for tests and the Reading and English sections of the ACT.
I believe a hands on approach to teaching a subject is the best way for a child to succeed. I believe that flashcards as well as games help younger children succeed in mastering a subject. Making a subject fun is key to helping a child tackle a tough subject. For older kids, practice tests are very helpful as well as flashcards. Encouragement and support is also an important part of mastery.

I spent some time teaching in the public school system. I had to resign my postion, due to family a family situation. I continued my work as a substitute teacher. I love working with students and appreciate the moment when they finally understand a concept with which they have struggled.

I tutored basic inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry I, II, and advanced organic throughout the course of my junior and senior years. I then went on to attend Union University to receive my Doctor of Pharmacy which is where I currently am. I have taken more chemistry along with advanced medical physiology.
