A Little Bit About Me...

During my high school years, I was able to work with a young child through his first three years of elementary school. I tutored the child through basic math, science, reading, and various school projects. I obtained invaluable teaching experience on a personal and professional level. During college, I declared my major in Microbiology/Pre-med. While taking all these difficult classes, I tutored many other students in the subjects of Microbiology, Organic and General Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, Calculus, and Biology.
I enjoy tutoring children and adults because it makes me feel like I'm able to give a piece of what I know to someone that has trouble understanding that particular concept. I graduated from Hope College in three years with a BS in Biology, a BA in Chemistry, and a minor in Classical Studies. I tutored throughout high school and college. I have tutored Latin (both into and upper level courses), Math (high school), history (high school,) Mythology (college), Biology (both intro and upper level courses), and Chemistry (both intro and upper level courses). In college, I was also a TA for Organic Chemistry discussion workshops, as well as biochemistry and organic chemistry labs. Also in college, I worked with science camps, grades 1-5. I have also worked at a summer camp, working with kids ages 8-20. I also have experience teaching Sunday school ages 4-12.
