Graduated Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1983 with a Major in Visual Communications. Have worked in Advertising Agencies, Printing Companies, Fortune 500 Companies. Have owned my own graphic design business for 15 years. I also teach Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (and classes on how they all work together in the graphic design workflow) for 3 years at Hillsborough Community College.
After I find out what the student desires to do with the knowledge, I show the student not only how to do something, but why. Also show alternate ways to do the same task to allow them to do the one that they are comfortable with. After showing, I have the student do the actual work, helping them through it. Real world examples are shown, concepts introduced, real skills practiced. We move on when student is ready to move on.

I truly enjoy working with students of all ages. It doesn't matter what they don't know because I believe anyone can be taught anything, at least as long as you have the right teacher and materials at your disposal. I believe students are like little sponges. They're taking in everything around them. Obviously, if you fill their heads with garbage, they will learn garbage. However, if you fill their heads with quality information, you explain it in a way that they understand, and you make it fun for them to learn, then they will learn everything you're trying to teach. I've worked in and on computers for over 30yrs and as a Systems Administrator I've worked extensively on Email, security, and full networking.
