My strategy to learning unknown subjects is very close to the same way children learn to walk, by immersion. Everything we learned as children was assimilated through watching, mimicking and attempting. I believe personal experience and learning are very close and in teaching I try to keep that in mind. I find myself a very visually inclined learner and utilize that to help others learn, such as drawing or watching videos.
