My comments on tutoring Poetry : I was president of my high school's poetry club, was awarded golden keys in poetry by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, and studied poetry under Marie Howe in my senior year of college.

I have been a private tutor and academic coach since the summer of 2020. Previously, I taught creative writing to children ages 8-18 at Writopia Lab's summer sleepaway camp (2017). I interned with the reading specialist, ESL teacher, art teacher, and speech therapist at Anne Hutchinson School in 2016 and 2017. I helped students struggling with reading and writing. Poetry is one of my top subjects! I plan to be a english teacher in the coming years after completing my MAT and poetry will be at the fore front of my curriculum. Not only is it a powerful tool of personal visualization using techniques like alliteration to personification it is a powerful tool of expression. With a semi-confined space people often pack a good deal of emotion into each stanza and choose every word carefully.
