Poetry is one of my top subjects! I plan to be a english teacher in the coming years after completing my MAT and poetry will be at the fore front of my curriculum. Not only is it a powerful tool of personal visualization using techniques like alliteration to personification it is a powerful tool of expression. With a semi-confined space people often pack a good deal of emotion into each stanza and choose every word carefully.

Tutor for Regular Elementary and Special Education

I have recently retired after 30+ years as an elementary special and regular education teacher. For the past 15 years I have also worked as a tutor for the city of White Plains. My comments on tutoring Poetry : I was president of my high school's poetry club, was awarded golden keys in poetry by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, and studied poetry under Marie Howe in my senior year of college.
