During college I spent a lot of time volunteering with youth. With a BA in psychology, I have learned to be very calm and patient when working with students. I spent 15 years overseas teaching English Conversation. However, I truly enjoy math. During my years of babysitting I assisted children with different homework. I also spent the summer of 2005 working with the Derek Coleman Hoops Festival in which I had to tutor in both math and reading. I love love love teaching. While teaching I try to be energetic and fun. I try to learn and understand the children's learning style in order to teach them most effectively. I am most satisfied in my teaching when my children truly understand what has been taught. Whether using candy or sports, I think everyone can learn what they need to know by relating it to something they already love.
