A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have a well-rounded education, most of my knowledge and work experience is in mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus plus the related fields of accounting, computers, and engineering). My college education at Purdue University was interrupted due to financial reasons, but I returned to Lake-Sumter Community College at night while working full time and earned an AA degree. My teaching style is very specific to each student I tutor. I try to tailor my thoughts so that any student at any level in the subject can understand me. At the teaching center, the focus was to help guide the student to get the correct answer and not just give the answer. Sometimes the thinking process to achieving the correct answer is more important than the answer itself. I also try using diagrams and figures when they are called for to explain some of the topics.
