I am fascinated with the concept that the more senses you utilize in teaching the better the child learns and retains what was taught. Some children respond to verbal teaching, while others prefer visual teaching, or others like to interact with their environment (the hands on approach). Each child has their own language. I believe that a teacher must do whatever is necessary to reach the student so that he can learn. Learning should be fun and enjoyable! I am most comfortable teaching with prek-5th grade students, because that is my area of expertise. As an undergraduate, I worked as a volunteer tutor in the Robles Park/Seminole Heights area for two years. I tutored kids in math, science, English, and social sciences.
