I've been teaching informally most of my adult life. I earned a 193 out of a possible 200 on a Praxis test that covered content knowledge of my subject area (English literature), and 179 in a comprehensive middle school language arts test, and am enrolled in Capella University, where I'm currently pursuing a master's of science degree in K-12 studies. I started substitute teaching in September 2001 in the Greenville County School District in Greenville, South Carolina. The Greenville County School District uses a computer system to contact teachers to substitute in schools which starts calling substitute teachers at 5:30am on the school day. I taught K-12 all subjects and special ed. In September through December 2005 I substituted at Duncan Elementry School in Duncan, South Carolina K-3rd grade. January through June 2006 I substitute taught at Easley High School in Easley, South Carolina all classes. Use of teaching materials is very important in my teaching.
