American Sign Language Mentor/Tutor

I think it is always important to learn what the client wants from the tutoring experience and go from there. For potential interpreters I have developed several linguistic building exercises and other challenging material. For parents of Deaf children I can help lead you to resources as well as language advancements. Deaf culture is a huge part of learning American Sign Language so social events and interaction with Deaf people is something I would include as part of my tutoring. My comments on tutoring Sign Language : I was introduced to American Sign Language when I was in the 4th Grade. Which then later became a passion of mine, because I was intrigued. As in right now I've taken College courses at a community college. I've taken multiple college courses including ASL-1 and I am now currently in ASL-2

I've know sign Language since the 4th grade, but as in right now I am a senior in High School taking college classes in American Sign Language, which it will lead to my career to becoming an Interpreter. My Major will be Communication Disorders.Within my High School years I have completed two years of Spanish. I am Fluent in English and Spanish because Spanish was my first language.

I am a Fresno State graduate with my BA Degree in Liberal Studies. I'm currently in the Multiple-Subject Credential Program. I have two years experience tutoring by working for the Madera Adult School CBET Program. I tutor all grades and all subjects. I also have tutored for a semester during my Junior year of high school. A Little Bit About Me...

It seems to me that everyone can learn, in different ways and at different times. My approach is to have several options of which approach will be successful. Being a 1:1 teacher allows me the freedom and time to work with a student on a concept in a number of ways until the cognition sets in for him. Being enthusiastic and excited about the learning experience is contagious. I always think about the teachers who were indifferent compared to the ones who were animated. I am definitely animated, excited, and enthusiastic. I believe in combining visual, tactile, and aural whenever possible.
