My comments on tutoring Sign Language : I was introduced to American Sign Language when I was in the 4th Grade. Which then later became a passion of mine, because I was intrigued. As in right now I've taken College courses at a community college. I've taken multiple college courses including ASL-1 and I am now currently in ASL-2

I've know sign Language since the 4th grade, but as in right now I am a senior in High School taking college classes in American Sign Language, which it will lead to my career to becoming an Interpreter. My Major will be Communication Disorders.Within my High School years I have completed two years of Spanish. I am Fluent in English and Spanish because Spanish was my first language.

Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I have been in many American Sign Language classes. Get lots of experience talking to many Deaf people, such as my sister. Working towards becoming an Interpreter for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I can have full conversations with a Deaf person.

I have used sign language since I was about 13 years of age and it became a passion of mine. I took many American Sign Language classes, to which almost all my professors are Deaf. I have gone to many Deaf events with my sister. I have been working towards becoming a Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. When I am at home doing nothing, I will sit and sign the conversations of tv shows, or to music or I will practice all the signs I know.
I don't have much teaching experience, but i have taught many kids sign language and to this very day they can tell me the different signs that they have learned

American Sign Language Mentor/Tutor

Have been working in the interpreting field since I graduated with my degree in 2007. I work primarily as a community interpreter as well as post secondary education. I also have had the opportunity to mentor and sight supervise University interns. In 2012 I received my national certificate for interpreting from the Register of Interpreters for the Deaf.
I think it is always important to learn what the client wants from the tutoring experience and go from there. My experience in the teaching field has been primarily as a substitute on a daily basis. I have some long-term sub assignments in my resume as well. For the past 7 years I have limited my assignments to "Home/Hospital". I meet 5 hours per week with each student to provide complete instruction in all subject areas for the student(s) unable to be in the regular classroom setting due to illness. It is very much a tutoring situation as 5 hours per week is not nearly enough to provide the detailed instruction available on a daily basis.
