Highly motivated, educated, and interested teacher will help

I have been teaching for over 17 years. Being very versatile, I have taught English, Ancient History, Medieval History, Computers, Art, and preschool. I started out teaching preschool and loved it. Then I went to a private Christian school (teaching completely for volunteer pay). From there, I decided that I love to help people learn. I went back to school. Students still will recognize me and I know that I made a difference in their life. It is a great reward to know that at that point in their life, I was supposed to be there.
I believe in individual learning styles and matching the teaching technique to the learning style. We all have strengths and weaknesses. It is important to learn how to capitalize on the strengths and build up the weakness.

Through my different career experiences I have discovered that my heart is in working with children, and I believe that given the proper environment and support every child is capable of learning and growing. A Little Bit About Me...

Communication has always been an interest of mine so I pursued a journalism degree and spent many hours in education to be an adept communicator through the written word. I also enjoy the person-to-person communication that is involved with the journalism profession. I have expanded my skills and knowledge through pursuing a creative arts career, as well. Before going to college, I formed the Oscoda County Youth Association with the goal of creating an organization that operated in the interests of the youth of the community. I have taught K through 12 grades. I have a Bachelors Degree, Multisubject Clear Dredential, a Spanish Authorization and a CLAD endorsement. I have 39 credits above my Bachelors. In the last 19 years I taught ESL to Algebra and just about any other subject. I did a two week K-8 National Education Science Workshop with NASA in 2001. In college I tutored Cultural Geography and while living in West Covina I did Math tutoring for a friend. Teaching is my priority and feel that there is a need for good teachers.

As a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo I was interested in English education, especially in terms of helping students improving their reading and writing skills. I followed this interest by tutoring at the university writing lab, as well as doing frequent one-on-one tutor sessions with students in need. At the end of each quarter I conducted private, one-on-one counseling sessions with the goal of helping students pass Cal Poly's Graduation Writing Requirement.
