I returned to school at the age of 47 to get my degree in history. My experience consists of tutoring from 1 - 60 students (in the same hour), teaching at Greenville Technical College, and creating my own tutoring service. I first start by explaining the material the way that I understand it. I also show examples to show how the problems are solved. If it doesn't seem to be taking then I start to break the problems down into simple steps and explain each step until the student understands. I also try to relate the material to them so they can relate to the material on a more personal level so that the information will stick with them better.
