Experience Summary
As a recent graduate from Clemson University's Calhoun Honors College, I deeply believe in the importance of education. I graduated high school with a high GPA and a 1420/1600 SAT score, I was granted the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship to attend college, where I graduated in three and a half years with honors. As a Management major, I was one of the best writers in my classes. I feel that my education has adequately prepared me to tutor students in English, sociology, philosophy, and mathematics. For the past two and a half years, I have served as a volunteer Young Life leader at Wren High School. Mentoring high school students, I have learned how to communicate with them.
Teaching Style
I truly believe that every student has the opportunity to perform well academically. While school comes naturally to some, others need someone to come beside them to help them learn. The best educators create an environment where students discover and explore. I will strive to create that environment by asking questions that allow students to come to answers for themselves. I also have the personal qualities that are necessary to tutor successfully. I understand how frustrating struggling academically can be. I can be patient empathize with students. I love seeing individuals succeed. Learning not only provides students with knowledge, but also can provide the self-confidence that will allow them to be successful in life.
