Experience Summary
Taught in Greenwood and Greenville county schools 12 years. I taught reading recovery, resource, and self contained classrooms. Before that I was an ABA line therapist for students with autism. I have a degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Special Education. I am certified as a Elementary and Special Education teacher through the SC state Department of Education. I now own my own tutoring business Shining Stars Tutoring LLC.
Teaching Style
I do not ever yell or scare my students into behaving the way I have seen many teachers do. With many students this does not work. I respect my students and in turn they respect me. This creates an atmosphere where students want to behave for me.
My Hobbies
I skate professionally. I also hike and dance in my spare time. I also love to travel when my job allows it.
Other Comments
I have lots of experience with students with ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, Autism, Dyslexia, and ODD. I love my students and their creative spirits.
