A Little Bit About Me...

I especially enjoy working with students who want to learn, and I truly love math. I know that math concepts are especially difficult for many students to grasp. I feel confident in my approach to assist students in meeting and exceeding their goals. I am a patient, caring person, anxious to make a difference in the lives of my students.
For the past eight years I have worked in a mentor/tutor capacity with focus on mathematics, physics and astronomy. This experience has included college level, high school and middle school students. I enjoy seeing my "students" succeed. I will be graduating in May with a BS in Physics, a BS in Astronomy and a minor in mathematics. In the fall I will be attending graduate school to pursue my Masters of Science degree in Astrophysics.

A Little Bit About Me...

My goal is to help children in any context that I can. Although I have my sights set on being a pediatric neurologist, my vision encompasses more than this end. I have worked with children from ages 3 to 16 starting from the time that I was a sophomore in high school to the present. I have served a diverse array of roles, such as summer camp counselor, patient care associate at St. Louis Children's Hospital, and a mathematics teacher at an inner city school in St. Louis. I really enjoy tutoring. I love watching the students gain confidence as we work through the problems. I believe my attitude and approach to teaching helps the students. I provide enough understanding to the students but still challenge them. The worst thing you can do, is just give the answers. I believe everyone wants to learn and do their best, but it is hard when you do not understand what you are trying to do. I enjoy providing that one on one attention to open their minds and show them they can do it.
