It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently. Thus, I make a conscious effort to sit down privately with each of my students so that we can address his/her concerns effectively and put together a constructive plan to improve his/her skill set.
As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I found both programs extremely enjoyable and found that all of my students were eager to learn and improve their skill set.

I have earned a BSE from Missouri Baptist University in education and hold a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate. My training at Missouri Baptist University has been supplemented with observations, field experiences, and student teaching which I completed at Kingston Elementary, Vineland Elementary, and Athena Elementary. I have also earned two associate degrees; AA in Education from Jefferson College and an AS in Interior Design from Patricia Stevens College. During the last two years I have been a substitute teacher for the Desoto School District and the Affton School District. My approach to teaching is build the students confidence by showing them that no problem is to difficult to challenge. I enjoy working with students step by step through each problem so that they can understand the essence of the question being asked and as such if the question is framed differently they are still able to answer it.
