A Little Bit About Me...

My personal style varies on the pupil. These may vary from simply being frustrated with the curriculum to a myriad of influences. My style is considered out of the box, meaning that if the standard method does not "click" with him/her, then I enjoy finding something of interest to them, to relate that to the subject at hand. Keeping a students interest is paramount to keep them enthusiastic about learning.
Along with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, I have many educational experiences in the area of science, math, history (to name a few). And in all levels of the educational process; from elementary through high school and even collegiate. My previous experience has included high school students and many college undergrads.

As a graduate of a major urban university and a person who has been well trained through rigorous Air Force courses, I have the formal education to have an impact on students. I have served as a state legislator, serve at Headquarters of the Georgia Air National Guard, write professionally,served as chairman of the local library board and have worked as a teacher for the last three years. I have also taught in the military. I enjoy working with young people
Children and youth are our greatest asset. I believe that all children can be reached. The key is to connect with them early and establish mutual respect. In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). In 2008 I taught in the design department for Georgia State University. This summer I traveled to a remote region in India to teach English. I have taught GRE prep for the past 3 years, covering the verbal, quantitative (math), and analytical writing (essay) areas.
