I am a math major at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and I have completed all the major-specific requirements for my degree. I find that mathematics instruction is greatly improved by visual aid. I found that my most effective teaching tools were the white board and marker rather than the computer or calculator (although those are useful as well). I have also been able to adapt my teaching style to the learning styles of my students, whether they enjoy learning math or not. There is no better moment that when a child becomes engaged and starts understanding and asking questions.
