Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. This degree required excellent science and math skills to complete. I have taken math through Calc 2 and advanced science courses such as organic chemistry and genetics. I feel that I have a very solid background in math and science and could teach it well. Additionally, I tutored Spanish for 2 years while attending my first university, UW Fox Valley. I feel that I have a good knowledge of Spanish and could tutor any beginning or intermediate students.
Teaching Style
I primarily teach through activities and ideas suited to meet each individual's need. Through the interpersonal contact and motivation I provide, I feel that I help the student to desire to improve their knowledge and perform better. Depending on the student, I can be an enthusiastic or a calm teacher. By taking courses such as child psychology, I am able to understand which teaching methods and interaction styles work best for each person. I think the best method of teaching is doing practice problems and hands-on work as well as addressing problems expressed by each student.
