Through my present position as a Substitute Teacher for the School District of La Crosse, my position as a Preschool Teacher, as well as previous experience gained as a student teacher in three placements over the duration of a school year, and volunteer work with the Coulee Region Head Start and Horse Sense for Special Riders (HSSR), I have obtained a wide range of experience with children of varying backgrounds and learning abilities in the age ranges of birth to age eleven. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in differentiated instruction and helping students find the way that individual learns best. I also use active learning which enables students to talk, listen, read, write, and reflect on content through problem-solving exercises, simulations, modeling, and role playing.
I am an Elementary Education graduate from the University of Minnesota. I have experience teaching students with emotional behavioral disorders, students who were at high risk for failure and students in inner city schools. I have purposely taken teaching jobs that are challenging and found that I take pleasure and personal fulfillment in being challenged and I perform well in a demanding environment.
