I have my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from a private, Catholic university. My time there taught me to be not only determined in what I do, but also ethical. During my college years, I spent a year tutoring students in English and Psychology courses. I am open to working with any level of student in English/Reading/Grammar/Literature and with high school and college level Psychology students.

As a teacher for the Washtenaw Intermediate School District, I had the privilege of working with students, age 3 to 21, who had significant cognitive impairments, and occasionally other disabilities such as autism and physically impairments. I retired in June after 32 years. My experience with students involved instruction in all areas of development, including functional academics, communication, social, community, employment, and daily living skills.
I found each day of working with my students both challenging and rewarding. I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach to education; rather I feel that programs should be developed/adapted to meet the needs of each individual. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree, I had the privilege of being employed as a special education teacher. In 2005, I resigned my teaching position to open my own licensed home daycare facility. During this time, I was the sole operator and administrator of Haneline Family Daycare. I am currently completing my master’s degree at Eastern Michigan University to obtain a K-12 endorsement as a reading specialist.
