A Little Bit About Me...

As an Elon University Love School of Business graduate I have extensive training in all aspects of business including Finance, Accounting, and Marketing. In addtion I have excellent written and oral communication skills from outside courses and previous tutoring experience.
Though I have no official experience as a tutor, being the oldest of three children there was always an oppurtunity to help with homework. I like to teach using visual examples and being patient to allow the student to work at a pace they are comfortable with. I loved teaching since my first teaching experience in 1974 that iinvolved working as a long-term substitute at the Omega School in Madison, Wisconsin. The Omega School, an alternative hiigh school that occupied a few rooms in an an old office buiilding, helped high risk students who couldn't fit into a regular high school environment obtain their GED. Some students were gifted but unable to adjust to the regimens of regular high school. Others stole cars or acted out in other ways. My next teachiing experience was in 1975 as a teaching assistant at the University of California, Irvine. T.A.'s taught their own classes and were responsible for lectures, grading, assignments. A Little Bit About Me...

As a second career I wanted to put something back into my community. So as I went back to school a few years ago to complete my MBA, I thought that I wanted to teach in public schools. I was a non-traditional teacher. I therefore had to work as a substitute teacher and as a tutor because I am not yet certified. So I worked as Coach(Academic K-12)and I enjoy it.
