I use various teaching styles within my classroom. I try to find how my student learns best and accommodate to their needs. I like to provide a variety of activities for my tutoring experiences. In my past tutoring experiences for language arts I did everything from flash cards of sight words, to word games, and short stories, to poetry. I also incorporated a lot of nonfiction text within the students interests range because LPS seems to be pushing more and more for students to have more advanced nonfiction skills in order to be successful on the NESA tests given in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. My style of teaching is one of direct questioning to be sure the student is understanding the information being povided, and the student is capable of retaining that knowledge. During my college years I worked closely with younger students who needed help with studies, and since my graduation from college continue to work with those that need assistance with various topics of learning.
