I have taught reading for four years. I have taught grades Kindergarten through fifth grade reading curriculum. I provide reading interventions daily for my students, as well as the core reading curriculum. I am familiar with Corrective Reading, Six Minute Solutions Fluency, Sound Partners, etc. I have had extensive practice with teaching comprehension skills and building blending/decoding skills. I have been to several reading trainings, including Anita Archer. I have implemented several of her practices into my own classroom teaching |
I have been to several vocabulary trainings within the district that I am working in and through ESU. I am currently teaching vocabulary to a group of 4th and 5th grade students who are struggling learners. I have found that extensive practice and relating the words to real life experiences is very helpful. Also providing students with pictures and hands on information can help them make connections with new or unfamiliar words. |
I have taught kindergarten through fifth grade math. I have used supplemental materials and the Saxon math curriculum for the past four years. |

This is my fourth year teaching as a Special Education teacher. I teach grades K-5. I have worked with students who have various and multiple disabilities. I am currently teaching a case load of 33 students.
I recently graduated UNL with a Master's degree in Special Education Mild/Moderate Disabilities. |
I have taught taught writing for grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. I help prepare fourth grade students for the Nebraska State Accountability Writing assessment. As a part of this I taught an intervention writing group to go through the process of writing. I teach organization, sentence structure, voice, mechanics, grammar, etc.
I am able to teach students the writing process of creating a well organized piece that contains a beginning, middle, and end. I have found that using a graphic organizer (or four square writing) is a useful strategy to implement when teaching struggling writers. |
