I really starting to help tutor people in high school. I found out that I enjoy helping people with there challenges and watching them succeed. I believe that when teaching or tutoring someone that you find a method that works for that person. That having a teaching template helps as a guide, but if you are not willing to change your method for the student they are never going to be able to retain the information for long term use. I'm a strong believer in the Gardner's ideas of many different learning styles and types of intelligent. Some students are better audio, tactile, or visual learners.
