I was also a part of the Math Team for four years and the Beta Club for eight years. As a student at Northeast, I earned a A.S. in Industrial Electronics, as well as, a Long Certificate in Electronics. I've been tutoring my brother-n-law in math for the three years while enrolled at the ITT-Technical Institute in Madison, AL. I am working on obtaining my B.S. in Computer and Electronics Engineering and Technology. I currently have a GPA of 4.0.

I think educators must take into account the different ways in which students learn. For instance, I've noticed that math students may have difficulty adding and subtracting fractions, but have no trouble whatsoever when I ask about dimes and quarters. If an instructor can build a bridge between new material and material the student has already mastered, the student's retention can significantly improve. By getting to know the interests and knowledge of each, I hope to discover bridges that will make learning an exciting and enjoyable process.
