I graduated with an AA Degree in Liberal Studies from Allan Hancock Community College. I then transferred to San Francisco State University where I earned my BA Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Sociology. Upon graduation, I began working as a Substitute Teacher for grades K-8 in Santa Maria, CA. During this time, I was responsible for teaching many subjects including English, math, music, history and physical education. I also conducted many small group tutoring sessions. During my undergraduate years, I often found myself tutoring fellow students. Eventually I got a job working for the math and science tutoring center on campus. I tutored students in my own classes and others, and I also helped teach a vertebrate anatomy lab. I am currently a Master's student in biology, and while biology is my field, I am also an accomplished writer.
