I have over ten years of classroom experience as a professional educator in a variety of settings including the states of Arizona, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C., as well as a two-year stint at an American school for Egyptian students in Cairo, Egypt (Science teacher). I have dual master's degrees and outstanding reading, writing, and communication skills. I have worked with youth in a variety of roles including teacher, coach, tutor, mentor, and youth development specialist and have worked with a diverse group of students ranging from public/private school students in urban and inner city environments as well as at-risk youth. I really like to tailor my style to each student. I also believe that when it comes to math, students often need as much help getting over their fear of math as they do with the actual concepts. I have had good experience designing science experiments and hands-on projects to help demonstrate science concepts and bring these concepts to life. I was fortunate enough to have excellent role models and caring teachers throughout my childhood and would like to pass on the attention that was shown to me.
I have earned a bachelor's degree from one of the most well regarded institutions in the world and I have a solid math and science background. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching comes naturally to me; I believe that everyone has the potential to be successful, given the right opportunity. Persistence, mutual admiration, and effort are the qualities that I bring with me, and they are all that I ask of the students that I work with. My goal is to make learning less of a duty and more of a stimulating quest, so that I may leave my students with the inspiration to continue learning throughout their lives.
As a student, I had the chance to participate in the Americorps program, where I developed and implemented programs for at-risk youth. My programs encompassed but were not limited to, ecology, animal husbandry, writing, reading, and the arts. As a special education teaching assistant I have tutored every level of education with the exception of adults. I am Cpr and first aid certified, as well as CPI certified.
