With a BA in Politics, Philosophy, & Economics (w/Literature Concentration), I am able to help students move beyond a simple grammatical appreciation of the English Language: from understanding allusions to developing their own voice. I am comfortable writing and teaching in a variety of styles (research papers, creative writing, journalism, poetry), and have extensive copy-editing experience (projects include a book, magazine & newspaper articles, published papers, and college composition essays). English and education have been a passion of mine for my entire life. My undergraduate experience at the University of Minnesota Morris exacerbated this characteristic. While at U of M Morris I lead several study groups as well as copy-edited for the University newspaper. Grammar, nonfiction writing as well as critical analysis of literature are my strongest talents.

I worked as a camp counselor for 3 summers, and understand that everyone has different learning styles. Personally, I am a visual learner, and I understand that when teaching lessons it is important to incorporate all aspects of learning: touch, sound, visuals, etc. I am energetic and creative and would rather do hands-on activities to drive the lesson home than to sit and memorize lists forever. Since I have a deep understanding of the English language from my Greek studies, I can help students remember the meanings of words with creative mnemonic devices.
