With a BA in Politics, Philosophy, & Economics (w/Literature Concentration), I am able to help students move beyond a simple grammatical appreciation of the English Language: from understanding allusions to developing their own voice. I am comfortable writing and teaching in a variety of styles (research papers, creative writing, journalism, poetry), and have extensive copy-editing experience (projects include a book, magazine & newspaper articles, published papers, and college composition essays). Attending a private liberal arts college taught me to push myself to be the very best I could be. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Classics with an emphasis on Greek, and a minor in English. I tutored for a January term Beginning Greek class, as well as whenever students stopped in the office and needed help with Greek or Latin. I have proficient language and mnemonic skills, since I studied the roots of language for 7 semesters. I enjoy proofreading and editing, and consider myself to be a "word nerd."
I worked as a camp counselor for 3 summers, and understand that everyone has different learning styles.
