I really enjoy helping others meet their potential and experiencing the joy of understanding math and science. Although I have taken many advanced mathematic classes, I can easily relate elementary, middle school and high school math subjects to students. I have always been passionate about and excelled in mathematics. For this reason, I entered into the field of engineering and received a bachelors degree and masters degree. A Little Bit About Me...

I began teaching private guitar lessons while I was still in High School. While working on my Bachelor's degree in Columbus Ohio I taught guitar and tutored Spanish. In 2002, I moved to Florida where I began working on my MA in Adult and Secondary Education with a concentration in Spanish. I have completed the requirements of that MA degree but have not applied to graduate in that I am taking MA level courses in TESOL to allow for a second concentration under the same Masters' degree. I have been tutoring Spanish, Portuguese, writing and English for Speakers of Other Languages at UNF for the last seven semesters. For me tutoring and teaching are not just a profession they are a passion.

A Little Bit About Me...

I was enrolled in the Master's Program for Elementary Education at the University of Florida and volunteered over 300 hours in the public school system. I have only one year left before obtaining my advanced degree should I decide to return to school. I have also been a tutor and mentor for at-risk youth. I have volunteered with the public library and used to spend one day a week reading to children in foster homes. I have spent the past year as a Lead Teacher in Colorado where I was able to have my own classroom, assistant and students. I believe that you need to learn a language with an expert. A person who not only speaks the language, but someone who can teach it. A language instructor needs to be a professional teacher/trainer with the necessary education and experience to lead students of all ages and backgrounds, to an enjoyable learning experience. Someone who is comfortable and competent teaching a large class, a small group or one-on-one tutoring. Although computer programs, web sites, online lessons, audio and video lessons can be helpful, they do not replace the face to face interaction with an experienced native language instructor.
