He has performed professionally in 25 countries touring with several bands and ensembles such as rock bands, jazz bands, jazz combos, New Orleans style brass bands, military bands, polka bands, chamber groups, and orchestras. He as played for numerous dignitaries including, 3 United States presidents, ambassadors, foreign presidents, and congressmen. During his time with United States Navy Band Southeast he was featured as a soloist numerous times on clarinet, saxophone, and flute in a variety of classical, rock, and jazz groups. I tailor my teaching style to the student. I believe that the lesson should be based on the learner and not the preference of the teacher. Repetition is good for learning; therefore, the use of various teaching methods are employed in order to maximize the information retained and learned by the individual student. I may use music, writing, reading (various types of writing materials),arts & crafts, and real life relations to engage the student in retaining and comprehending information; not just for the class, but for a solid foundation in the subject area. Prior to my relocation to the Jacksonville, Florida area I had completed my undergraduate degree and was working toward my Masters in Education for Middle School. During this period, I interned at a middle school and had worked as a substitute teacher. I have also worked in management and training.
I believe that each child has a unique learning style or motivation trigger and it is the teacher or tutor's job to find what will encourage the child to learn. I desire to teach children but also to help them learn how to teach themselves.

My teaching style is very hands-on. I believe in practical knowledge and showing students several different ways to understand something. I also believe in providing students the opportunity to figure out solutions to problems on their own with encouragement, instead of just having them copy what I say. My future plans are to become a Health Care or a Biology teacher in the summer of 2010. I believe in passing the information that I have obtained to a younger audience and helping students think of goals and help them reach them. If I begin tutoring my teaching method is a more visual and hands on learning. The reason for that science is a very different and difficult subject to learn from English and History. As a graduate of Jacksonville University, I feel I received an excellent education and want to give back to the community. There is not enough emphasis placed on education as it was during my growing up years. I fear that the focus has turned and it is centered on sports not academics.
