In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). In 2008 I taught in the design department for Georgia State University. This summer I traveled to a remote region in India to teach English. My first experience as a tutor happened my second year in college. She was an elementary student with behavioral problems. After four sessions, I resigned from that position. A month later, I found out that she was autistic. She taught me a very valuable lesson. Before I can tutor, I must first understand what kind of learner the student is.
